ME AND ABE

What does 6' 4" mean to a kindergartner?  Nothing until you make a life size Abe Lincoln for them to stand next to!  We have a life size Abe in our hallway this week.  Today, we got to take our picture next to Abe.  The kids were so excited to stand next to him.  I printed out their picture for them to glue onto their Me and Abe writing.  The kids also got measured so they can record their height on their paper.

Here are a couple pictures of my kids with Abe.

 Have a great weekend!

Snow, Snow Go Away!

Is it really February 17th?!  I

In the last 31 possible school days, we have missed 8! We have more snow/ice on the way tonight.  My class has only been outside for recess once since December.  Right now we have over 5 inches of snow sitting on our playground.  When it all melts it will be one big mud pit!  We need a mulch delivery but who know when that will happen.  When it does happen, it usually takes another week for someone to come spread it across the playground.  I guess we will go out by the end of March.  I treasure the 30 minutes of recess outside.  I get to see people who are my size and have short choppy conversations while controlling crazy kids.

VALENTINE'S DAY
We got to celebrate Valentine's Day today!  We didn't have school last Thursday or Friday due to the 10 inches of snow that we got.  So, today we had a very quick valentine exchange.  One of my kids made an owl valentine box that I am in love with!
I also wanted to show you some of the pictures that I took last week that we put in our Valentine cards to our loved ones.  The kids loved doing these pictures.

I can't wait to see if we get the snow that they are calling for.  Will we have another day off tomorrow?

Have a great Tuesday!

VA BLOGGER MEET UP

Hey everyone,

This past Thursday, I met up with other VA Bloggers at Bahama Breeze, at Potomac Mills.  It was great getting to meet these bloggers in real life.  To top it off, Heidi, the Heidi from Heidisongs, sent us CDs and DVDs!  That was the cherry on top of a great day. :)
I can't wait to use this CD in my classroom!

Make sure you check out her blog.  http://heidisongs.blogspot.com

Well, Made It Monday is coming and I have nothing ready.  I need some ideas for my next project.

MONDAY MADE IT

I am linking up with Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics for MONDAY MADE IT.
I would like to say that MONDAY MADE IT has actually made me feel like I have done something this summer.  A big thank you to everyone that has inspired me to make  great stuff this summer.

Now for my MONDAY MADE IT...

I decided to jump into the glue sponge boat.  I can't wait to see how much this will cut down on glue issues.  This was such an easy MONDAY MADE IT!  I feel like I should decorate the outside of the containers.  Any ideas?

If you would like to see how to make these glue sponges then you should check out Greg's (Kindergarten Smorgasboard),  YOU TUBE video.

Getting ready to move onto my next project!

HAS IT REALLY BEEN 3 MONTHS?

I don't know how it happened.  It has actually been three months since I last blogged.  I am always thinking about what I should blog about.  I even take pictures.  However, it never happens. :(

This year has somehow sucked everything out of me.  I feel like I need more time to get "school stuff" accomplished.  I haven't even had time to make/publish anything on TPT.  On Friday afternoon, I realized that I hadn't even started making the Thanksgiving book with my kinders.  Where is time going?

I decided that hooking up with Farley's November Currently would be a great way to get back in the swing of blogging.  So here it is!

Please leave me some comments and even become a follower.
